Choosing Noon FBN or FBP changes both the cost of an order and the work you do every day. Compare them using the same product, selling price and packaged measurements. A lower fulfillment charge is only one part of the decision: your own packing, storage and handover effort also belong in the comparison.
Who stores, packs and delivers?
With FBN, you send prepared inventory to Noon’s fulfillment center. Noon stores inventory, fulfills orders and handles customer queries and returns. You still control the listing and pricing. Noon explains the FBN model here.
For ordinary FBP DirectShip, you keep stock, prepare and label orders, then hand them to Noon for delivery. This is different from delivering to the shopper yourself. Direct Delivery and other FBP arrangements have separate workflows. Confirm which service is enabled for your account and product. Read Noon’s DirectShip responsibilities.
| Question | FBN | FBP DirectShip |
|---|---|---|
| Where is stock kept? | Noon warehouse | Your storage location |
| What work should you plan? | Inbound preparation and replenishment | Order preparation and handover |
| What should you measure? | Packaged size and weight | Packaged size and weight |
Build one comparable cost sheet
Use the current fee schedule for the country, category and fulfillment model. Do not assume UAE rates apply in Saudi Arabia or Egypt. Add the costs that belong to your operation even when they do not appear as a marketplace charge.
- Use the same selling-price and product-cost basis for both models.
- Record referral, fulfillment or DirectShip charges and applicable storage costs.
- Add inbound transport for FBN and packing, labor and handover costs for DirectShip.
- Include advertising and a returns allowance when evaluating contribution.
- Include reimbursements only where the current rules make your order eligible.
Keep fee estimates separate from observed settlement charges. Reconcile the first real orders before using an estimate to justify a larger inventory purchase. Apply consistent tax treatment across the calculation so one option does not look cheaper simply because its inputs use a different basis.
An illustrative comparison
These are invented planning inputs, not Noon rates or a tax example. Suppose revenue on a consistent accounting basis is AED 100 and product cost is AED 40. Assume all model-specific charges and operating allowances total AED 24 for FBN and AED 21 for DirectShip. Contribution before shared overhead is AED 36 and AED 39 respectively.
Now suppose DirectShip needs another AED 4 per order of packing and handover labor that you initially omitted. Its contribution becomes AED 35. FBN is ahead by AED 1 under these assumptions. The point is to make omitted work visible, rather than assume either model wins. Replace every input with your verified costs before deciding.
Choose a model you can operate reliably
Our decision framework: favor the option whose contribution remains acceptable under a lower selling price and whose workload you can sustain. If you cannot consistently prepare orders, a small estimated DirectShip saving may be less useful than reducing daily fulfillment work. If you already have reliable storage and packing capacity, measure its incremental cost instead of counting the whole warehouse bill twice.
Also compare how much stock you must commit and how quickly you can replenish. Estimate weekly order volume, minutes of work per order and the cash tied up in stock. These are your planning assumptions, not promised marketplace outcomes.
Test a manageable batch first
- Confirm service eligibility, packaging instructions and the current country rate card.
- Measure a finished package and record the exact category used.
- Track actual order charges, preparation time and returns.
- Recalculate contribution when price, packaging or fulfillment method changes.

Frequently asked questions
Does Noon FBP mean I deliver orders to customers myself?
For ordinary DirectShip, you store and prepare orders, then hand them to Noon for delivery. Direct Delivery and other FBP arrangements have different workflows; confirm the model enabled for your account.
Is FBN always more profitable than FBP?
No. Compare the current country and category fees plus your own storage, packing, handover and labor costs. The result can change with package size, selling price and sales volume.
Can I use UAE fee assumptions for Saudi Arabia or Egypt?
Do not transfer the UAE calculation unchanged. Check the relevant country fee schedules and available service before evaluating each marketplace.
